dayshift

FUN.
Less queue. Less stress.
But not that compensated since there is nothing hazardous that may inflict a call center junkie like me. As am with a 24-hour support center, the clock ticks the whole day long, swarmed with people around, our center never gets hollowed and empty. Sometimes 5-10 heads in the afternoon or 10-15 count by night time then 150 to about 200 people by the middle of the wee hours after midnight. A regular stuff. No biggie.
I have the conventional and typical Yuppie shift that starts when the sun rises and ends when the sun sets. Boring? I know. Not to mention the traffic plus the hustle and the bustle of people trying to get to work and school as well. Qualms? I don't get to have any nowadays. What else would I ask for? Work by day and party till dawn then repeat till fade . See? For once in my 6 years in the industry am in a human form again. You never get to have a social life if your doing the gravey, I should say, been toxifying those shifts since eternal I guess.
Health? I don't know, endangered, I deduce? It's not a normal routine if you ask me but that's the only way to palliate all the negative ions you procure. A week is so much of a burden not to mention Mondays, yuck! I even made a mantra for Mondays, T G I F -making the day a Friday instead of it being the first day of the work week! Positive thinking just to get thru the day. I can't tell you enough to the brim, how fusive Mondays are with us. Spell hell in all caps. That's it!
My life? Like dayshift!
Fun. Less queue. Less stress.

Call Center Life

What a journey! If that’s what you call it. Some treat it as a devolve, some just passed by and others really don’t care if they’re here or not.

Bumpy, fun, exhasuting not to mention elating ride it has been. What? Five years? Wow! I can’t imagine those years, growing and learning at the same time. I never thought I would stay and linger in this industry as it was just the most “in” thing, hip, wild and frivolous. That’s it! Nothing more, nothing less. Mind you, my dream then was to become an infamous programmer, savvy and techie. Alas! The language that I know? I’d be damned! The programming that I know was so four years ago, crap, right? With the ever changing and occuring world of software development with a wink of an eye what you know maybe a thing of the past.

Working late nights, asleep during daybreaks and parties on restdays and weekends. A routine, yes but that pretty much sums up the whole time I’ve been here. I know, generic and pathetic yet that’s what happens when you’re young and full of shit with a bagful of cash on your strip.

I started 2004, timid and shy, agressive and repulsive at the same time with a handful of courage on my left hand and a book by my right. At that time, my interview with TelePerformance went haywire; read: SALES (what the effin’ schmuck should I do?) The clock striked one helpless and desperate with just twenty pesos on my pocket, hungry at the same time. I dragged myself to Sykes Asia, marble lobby was clacking with high-heeled shoes and the mode of conversation? Whatelse but the dreaded English Language, OMG! My feet were shaking and the sweat was oh so cold than ice. Well! This is it! I am here, there’s no turning back, either make it or break it! I stormed. Luckily ended with an elusive account far more than I expected. READ: NO TALKING. Just plain typing. Speed and skills are what they need. No need for your brain to function. My worries were in vain. Got the hire.

That was the easy part. Then came course skills, I bled alright! Whew! That didn’t came to flattering but I managed. Week TWO passed by so breezy, week THREE was agony, bloopers on week FOUR and week FIVE was utterly hell. Scrutiny, details and a zappy mind was needed. Your holster was to deal with it or bear with it. Four years passed, it marked well. Got a disorder from it. O-C. Discomfort you say? Nope! Never better actually.

Seasons came and left, storms crashed and devastated. This I mean literally! Milenyo? Ondoy? Ring a bell? Yes, They were part of it all.

Yet all of such has been a joyride. A classic twist and turn. Fostered a lot of memories, tears and laughter hand in hand. Priceless bondings and get togethers. And the flirtings? They were on the sides!

Outsiders call it WORK but us? It’s LIFE.

What else can I say?

Tara, join the bandwagon.

Consequentiallly for you!

Change is the only permanent in this world. Flaringly yes, but are we able to change destiny as it is written? Heck of a confusion huh?
Karma, the one related to change, I mean, let’s get to it, a law in physics class heads us up: in every action, there is an equal and relatively positive and negative reaction. Layman’s diction? Consequences! But I always think about it as karma, either positive or negative still is a part of the consequence that equates what you have done, though past and present that would still affect and whack you in a bang!
Take an example, me, yeah me, none other else! I bummed myself hoping to construct a diversity of what I have, yet I was very wrong to have let gone of a gem so precious, now so intricate, there is no other stock left. Precarious judgment was one of the highlights. Awfully true, but my senses were clouded of what seems to be the most elusive decision I have done on my entire life. Elusive? Definitely! A scorching career that provided everything great and one of a kind. Please don’t mind my junk sentimentality but that’s the truth behind it all.
I hope all will come to its terms and finally would end my desperation in which is, and radically is destroying me. Tempting though to end my life, yep! I did have an unraveling thought of it. Am a complete disaster, as presumably judged with all of my writings on the wall. I want to be free but who doesn’t right? all of us woes of being able to set our self boundless by everything. I guess as rough as it gets the tough should too be going. But how? Condescendingly its always there to perturb my very existence.
Well, its maybe a teaching for me, not to take very lightly the consideration of a fact to value work as a basic necessity to human existence and formation. Contemplating over the sad situation am stuck into. Right now I don’t have a damn choice, do I? Very late to think of the repercussions, why now? Am beginning to doubt it’s human nature. You can’t value a thing if you have it, at the time you loose it, it ravels you the significance.
